I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.....

WHEW! What a week. It started so strong and I hope I continue down this path. I dusted off The Abs diet cookbook and cooked my way through last week. From PB&J smoothies to Guac and Roll, Hurry Curry, and Brazilian Chicken, my kitchen appliances were busy! I tend to do this: get obsessed. I like this. 7 lbs down and only 9,999 to go. At least it seems that way! I highly recommend that book, it reminds me that healthy=yummy. As for exercise....well...dragging a treadmill from the living room to the new and improved workout room must count for something. Especially after burning all those calories scaling the treadmill belt when I jammed the darn thing (in the storage position) in the doorway with no way out but up. Next time I will bring a toolbox and phone with me. I have been exercising, but the Abs Cookbook does state that it's optional the first two weeks and I still think lugging around 20 lbs of Hope has to count for cardio :)

After dinner guests two nights in a row, this momma is exhausted, but I'm not losing momentum. Treadmill on lunch break and perhaps some weights later on.

Cheers!

The Baby Food Diet

So, I've decided I'm going to start a new trend - a baby food diet. Don't laugh at me yet. Now that Hope is able to eat solids, we've been buying her little puffs and yogurt melts because she loves to feed herself. I was sitting with her the other day and she put a zesty tomato cheese puff in my mouth. Despite the fact that it was soggier than I normally care for, it was BETTER than a Cheeto! I looked at the can and realized I could indulge in 18 of those puffs for 25 calories AND get vitamins and protein. Ummm, can you say "yay"? I know it's silly and not realistic but it does make me wonder at what point did food manufacturers stop making food healthy? Wouldn't you want to continue to feed adults the same vitamin and protein levels? Everyone laughs at me, but I think I may be on to something. I've been quite sick this week and not really wanting to work out, but I'm going to walk today, right after I finish my yogurt melt snack. 1/4 cup of strawberry goodness for 30 calories! With all diets there is a catch, of course. Turns out healthy doesn't equal cheap. We're all willing to pay the price to get fit though, right? A big thanks to my little Hopey to introducing me to her world of munchies. Now I just have to make sure I leave some for her!

Losing weight is a science - maintaining that weight loss is an art...

I want to be PICASSO!!!!!!
Ok, so today is day 4 of my quest and so far so good. The first three days were a breeze, because I stayed busy and happy with Hope and ran errands (a.k.a. shopped!!), visited friends, and cleaned house. And then Monday
happened.
I say so far so good, but that just means I'm ok if I don't eat anything else today. Seriously! It all started last night when I had nightmares and couldn't sleep. You can tell how excited I was to start work this morning, huh? The icing on the cake today was when I was cleaning and organizing and picked up shoes from underneath the bar and stood up quickly and literally knocked myself out on our granite bar. For some reason, I turned to food for comfort and healing. What's that saying? "Starve a fever, feed a cold, STUFF a headache?"? Well, needless to say, I eat when I hurt. The good news is that MyFoodDiary.com says I did a great job staying under 9% fat and I got all the protein and vitamins I need. The real challenge is to see if I can just drink water and crystal light and eat free foods (a.k.a. lettuce and air) until I go to sleep tonight. I'd go to bed now, but I heard you're not supposed to sleep for more than two hours if you might have a concussion.
More to come!
Love, hugs, and dreams of margaritas!

Hitting the ground running....

Remind me why we thought it was a good idea to party like it was 1989 when we have a sick baby? Let it be said that it was easy not to drink or eat past midnight, as we were in bed already! So today marks the beginning of my journey and while I'm exhausted - I am super excited. I started my day right with a big glass of water, OJ and my vitamins and I had great intentions for breakfast. I made peach oatmeal and sat down to take a bite when my kittens so sweetly helped themselves to my bowl. Maybe I should let them get near all my food - because that requires immediate trashing of whatever is in the bowl/on the plate/near my face! So here I sit, playing with Hope - that burns calories, right? I'm about to sign on to my tried and true favorite website, MyFoodDiary.com. More to come!

Don't be discouraged. It's often the last key in the bunch that opens the lock. ~ Unknown

Quest for thin in 2010

And we're off... ok I'm off. Where to? Back to my wedding day weight... Back to ultimate happiness in myself... Back to the sexy mommy I know I can be. But before my quest begins tomorrow, I will say goodbye to margaritas tonight.

I look forward to documenting my journey back to a size 8. I am challenging myself to workout daily and eat healthy. Success is not that difficult to obtain. It's not a secret. It's just about committment. If I fail - I will be candid about it. But I'm NOT going to fail. Not this time.

More tomorrow! Love and kisses - CiCi Momma
